How could a one to one Yoga / Pilates session help me?

How could a one to one Yoga / Pilates session help me?

Some people run a mile (no pun intended) at the thought of an individual exercise session … all that scrutiny and pressure! But one to one Yoga or Pilates differs from being individually boot camped …think of it more like an hour of self-care. We often hand over a similar amount of cash for a manicure, or a meal but it could be argued that the learning you take from a one to one session could be more long lasting and potentially just as life enhancing.

Do any of these statements apply to you?

  • I struggle through big group yoga or Pilates classes wondering how to alter each exercise to help me
  • I have particular conditions I need to ease using yoga and Pilates (e.g. sciatica, back pain, hip replacement …)
  • I need a gentle return to exercise after a long period away (e.g. after a recovery from injury, or life demands like caring)
  • I need one off sessions at times and regularity to suit me
  • I have particular goals I want to work on with added encouragement (e.g. learning how to cope with anxiety via breathing techniques, or how to touch your toes again)
  • I don’t feel confident in a group exercise class yet
  • I want some feedback on my posture or on my form in a particular exercise
  • I want to learn tailored stretches to support a particular sporting performance such as tennis
  • I want a package of services to really meet my needs… this can include physiotherapy, sports massage, the new and unique Vimove assessment and report (an motion sensor programme to assess how you move your back), group and one to one Yoga/Pilates

If any resonate, why not book yourself a session with me at Great Northern Physiotherapy, or buy a friend/family member a gift voucher for a birthday or Christmas. The session costs only £30 for 45 mins of individual attention in a smart, studio setting.

What to expect:

  • A friendly welcome
  • Discussion about your goals
  • Practicing tailored exercises (wear comfy loose clothing and bare feet or socks)
  • Feedback on how to continue at home or in a group
  • Mats and other equipment provided
  • Confidentiality

Client feedback about my one to one service includes:

‘I was suffering from a form of Vertigo so Cathy reworked some of my normal Pilates exercises for me so I felt confident to continue attending a class. Working one to one helped me find a way to manage’

‘Cathy helped show me yoga moves to help me with my flexibility for climbing. My yoga also helps me focus and concentrate before my climbing competitions’
